4 Signs You Are Not Meant To Be A Programmer

Posted by Unknown on October 04, 2016 with No comments
Not everyone is meant to become a programmer. It’s cool when you are being referred to as a ‘Programmer’, the job title is awesome. But why are there so many computer science graduates without the knowledge of programming.

Some might even know how to code, but programming is just not their thing. If you are not sure of being a programmer, below are some signs to point you on the right direction.

  • You lack creativity: programming is like a dark room filled with gold, until you begin to illuminate the room, before you see the beauty of it. You may know how to code using different languages, but when you lack creativity, your knowledge of coding might not be useful
  • Lack of passion: when you make your passion your profession, work becomes play. When you lack passion in what you do, especially programming, it always turns out to be unsuccessful. You need to be self driven, else you’ll never meet your goal.
  • You can't sit for long periods:  as a programmer your working time is not 9-5. Your working time will be dynamic. As a programmer you would even prefer to stall all day in front of your computer. Although there are health related issues. Anyway as a programmer you’ll sit in front of your computer for long period of time, that’s it.
  • You want to get rich quick: you can work on a multi million project for years, but it takes critical thinking and patience to explore the riches in it. Programming is not a get rich quick program
