You can apply for a Gates Cambridge Scholarship if you are:

·         a citizen of any country outside the United Kingdom

·         applying to pursue one of the following full-time residential courses of study at the University of Cambridge:

Applicants apply for a Gates Cambridge Scholarship and admission to their chosen postgraduate course at the University of Cambridge and a Cambridge College via the Graduate Admissions Office, using the Graduate Application Form and supporting documents.

It is not possible to apply for a Gates Cambridge Scholarship without applying to the University of Cambridge. You must apply for admission as a postgraduate student to the University of Cambridge and a Gates Cambridge Scholarship at the same time, using the one application pack.

4.      The student must be able to assure the committee that he or she will be able to secure employment in their home country after graduating from a graduate school. The period of the scholarship is set in accordance with the shortest period of time required to complete the intended degree. The student, once awarded the scholarship will be able to choose the option (1), (2) or (3) as below.

(1) ¥200,000 per month for1 or 2 years

(2) ¥180,000 per month for 3 years

(3) ¥150,000 per month for 4 or 5 years
