Blackberry’s Android phone, the “Priv” will launch this year
Posted by Unknown on September 27, 2015 with No comments
Blackberry is finally joining Team Android. During the company's latest earnings report (PDF), the company officially announced it would release an Android phone.
John Chen, Blackberry's executive chairman and CEO, confirmed the earlier rumors.
"Today, I am confirming our plans to launch Priv, an Android device named after BlackBerry's heritage and core mission of protecting our customers' privacy," he said. "Priv combines the best of BlackBerry security and productivity with the expansive mobile application ecosystem available on the Android platform."
The Priv has been leaking all over the Internet, where it was formerly known as the "BlackBerry Venice." The device has Blackberry's famous hardware keyboard, which slides out vertically from the bottom of the device. Leaked images, mostly from Evan Blass, AKA EVleaks, shows a device that runs a mostly stock flavor of Android with the Google Play Store and associated Google Apps. Blackberry is, of course, packing in a few apps and customizations of its own.
The Blackberry fans over at CrackBerry have been tracking the device, and that site lists the rumored specs as a 5.4- or 5.6-inch 1440p display, Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, an 18MP rear camera, and 5MP front camera.
Lumia 950 and 950 XL To Be Released in October
Posted by Unknown on September 20, 2015 with No comments
The earlier rumors said that the Lumia 950 XL will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor which will be backed by 3GB of RAM. We haven’t heard anything new in the meantime, which means that the phone will come with a screen size of 5.7-inch, and it will be a QHD display with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. Moreover, the phablet will have an USB type-c port and dual-SIM support.
On the other hand, the Lumia 950 will feature a 5.2-inch QHD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, which will be backed by 3GB of RAM. The device will support an internal memory of 32GB, which will be expandable with the help of a microSD card, it will take pictures with a primary camera of 20MP (PureView) and will be kept alive by a 3000 mAh battery (which will support wireless charging).
According to some earlier rumors, Microsoft will most likely announce its new Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL sometime in October 2015, along with other Windows 10 devices, including the Surface Pro 4. The same rumors suggest that a wearable device named “Band 2”, along with a “mini” Xbox One, will be unveiled during the same event
Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7+ to Arrive in February 2016
Posted by Unknown on September 20, 2015 with No comments
It seems that Samsung is preparing two Galaxy devices which will be called Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7+.
According to some new reports, Samsung will most likely prepare a new Exynos processor which will power up the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7 device. However, we remind you that there are a lot of reports showing the Galaxy S7 benchmarked with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, which suggests that Samsung might use the Qualcomm processor for the North America and Europe, while Asia will probably get the new Exynos processor.
Two Galaxy S7 Devices
According to some new rumors that surfaced at the beginning of September, Samsung will actually release two Galaxy S7 devices: the first one will feature a 5.2-inch display and the other one will have a 5.8-inch display (with other words, the latter model will be actually a phablet), which is not surprising, as they are an answer to Apple’s iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus.
Both the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7+ will be backed by 4GB of RAM, which means that Samsung will not bring a smartphone that will feature 6GB of RAM (as it was previously rumored).
Unfortunately, until now, Samsung hasn’t confirmed any of these rumors and we should take this news with a bit of salt. However, as we’re getting closer to the end of 2015, the South Korean multinational conglomerate company headquartered in Samsung Town will most likely come with some news regarding its Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7+.
Do you think that Samsung will truly release two Galaxy S7 devices at the beginning of 2016 or will they delay the launch of these devices until Q2 2016?
